Every bride and groom has a different idea of where the perfect wedding would occur. Some dream of having their wedding in a church, others dream of being married outdoors on a mountain top somewhere, and others dream of being wed on the beach, in a casino, or in the backyard of their childhood home. There are many beautiful places where people think of getting married, but what is the right place for you? If money was of no consequence, where would you ideally get married?
When a couple becomes engaged, they should start thinking about their wedding location even if they are not ready to set a date. Booking a place for a ceremony or reception often needs to be done months, if not years, in advance, so the couple will want to start considering where they would like to get married right away. Shopping for the right wedding venue can take some time, and what may have seemed like a great idea in the beginning may not work out for budgetary or timing reasons. When they become engaged, a couple needs to begin shopping and look at all of their options.
Couples should start by looking at their ideal wedding location. It may include a church, banquette halls, casinos, somewhere outdoors such as mountains or a beach, or another location. Looking at all of these options will allow the bride and groom to see the places differently and consider if it will accommodate their needs and all of their guests and their needs well. Often getting on location and looking at a place up close and personal will turn the couple off from what they thought was a great idea.
May couples will get frustrated when shopping for the right wedding location, but when the couple looks at what they need, they’ll know the right place when they find it. Some of the things that the couple may want to think about include:
- whether or not they wish to have the ceremony and reception in the same place
- whether they need to accommodate guests, how many guests there will be in attendance
- what they would like to feed their guests and how they will entertain them.
When the couple comes up with all of the things that they want and need from a wedding location, they may be able to eliminate many of the venues straight away. Sitting down together and coming up with the necessary criteria for a wedding and reception location will save everyone time and stress.
